Drop the nap?

My DD turned 2 last week and for like the last 2 weeks she has been up til 9pm. She still naps for 30-40 mins anytime between 11 and 1pm. My fear is that if i stop letting her nap then it wont make a difference because she will fall asleep on the way home from nursery and have the same result. Any advice?

I would keep the nap for as long as possible, my 3.5 year old still naps for 2 hours most days. Friends whose dc dropped their naps early ended up with either very grumpy dc by 6 pm or, as you say asleep in the car. What is she doing between bed time and 9? Is her room too light now the evenings a lighter?

Yes it could be that its too light! I will buy 1 of those travel black out blinds ive seen on amazon and see if that helps. Shes just full of beans between bed time and actually going to bed! She is jumping, climbing, shouting that shes hiding, playing with toys and wanting cuddles. She generally gets ignored and then every 10-15 mins 1 of us goes up puts her back in bed and comes away. By the time we are back downstairs shes at the top of the stairs telling us her eyes are open 😂

What time is she up in the morning?

Try tin foil on the windows before you spend cash on a black out blind!

Well i get her up between 6.30 and 7 but this week i reckon she would have slept til 8 or 9 she has traditionally had 12 hours sleep. Wow top tip about tin foil. She seems shattered this eve had a normal nap but has been crying for bed since 6pm just giving her a long bath now trying to keep her going but guarentee she gets a second wind again!!
