Am I crazy to wake baby?

After moving DS (4months) into his his own room a couple of weeks ago he is sleeping well. Currently waking twice a night. Im trying to get him to bed for 8pm as before being on own room it was creeping up to 9pm-10pm. The days he sleeps better at night are when he's up in the morning at around 7/7.30. Am I crazy to wake him? Whenever I need to do it it seems so cruel especially as I spend so long trying to get him to sleep in the day!!

Some babies thrive on a routine so I'd say go for it.

If you'd have had to go back to work by now it's quite possible that you'd have to wake him up at a set time each day anyway.

Any child born into a family with a sibling at school will automatically have to be woken in the morning in order for parents to get ready for the school run.

Waking baby in the morning is a normal thing that happens from birth in many (most) families.

It is only those households with one child and a SAHP that are able to do as they please in the morning - these are a minority of families though.

I wake DS when I'm at work and he's none the worse for it. He goes to bed happily at night. It also means at weekends I don't have to wake him and he sleeps a little longer 😀
