Night tremors - teething!

My 7 month old boy has always slept well during the night. Recently though he's started waking up crying 2-3 times uncontrollably. He appears to still be half asleep though, eyes shut, and is a dead weight when I lift him. Someone suggested to me it might be related to teething. Anyone experienced this? He's had his hands in his mouth a bit more than usual recently but nothing major. Contemplating giving him teething granules but don't know if I'll be wasting my time.

Teeth cutting through the him causes this sort of level of upset. You might feel the spikes soon.

I find Calpol more effective than any teething gels. While I wouldn't recommend long-term medication for "just incase", I don't see a problem if giving 4 hourly doses of Calpol for a day or two, to see if it makes a difference.

DD is 5.5months and we have been having this. She sleeps so well of a night normally. Goes down at about 8pm and not a peep until at least 4am at the earliest. Past 2 weeks she has been crying out but still asleep. I go in stroke her face pop dummy in and she tends to be ok. This can go on for about an hour about 9pm and then again at 1am. She is definitely teething as she is chomping on everything during the day

My almost 7 month old DS has been doing this and is sometimes inconsolable. A few days ago he just screamed and screamed, all I could do was hold him against my chest until he stopped (and the calpol kicked in!)

Next thing we know he has a little tooth spiking through his bottom gum

I can see the other bottom tooth just under the skin so bracing myself for a repeat in a few days time.

It's hard isn't it? Especially when you never know how the night will pan out.

Thanks guys. Started giving him some teething granules and a night time dose of calpol. Seems a wee bit better. Only up once last night. Long may that continue! 😊
