8 week old sleeping habits

Mixed fed baby - he would sleep in 2 hour stretches until the last week or so where he's up every 45 mins-ish. He does sleep during the day.

However he's already outgrown his Sleepyhead and doesn't seem to like his Snuzpod - both are too constricting for him because he likes to sleep in the starfish position - so the only place he now falls asleep (apart from on us) is our sofa (it's low, wide and very flat, not like a typical sofa). If we move him after he falls asleep he'll just wake up.

So we are now doing shifts through the night to sit with him while he sleeps on the sofa, which seems bonkers to me as we're both completely sleep deprived!

Any advice on how/when should an 8-week old be sleeping and how we can wean him back into his Snuzpod?

We've finally ordered a cotbed which will go in his room but I'm reluctant to move him to it when it comes since the advice is obviously they should be in the same room us parents until 6 months.

Can you co sleep with him in your bed? Surely he would fall asleep there much like he does on the sofa?

I don't know what a snuzpod is but can you not put the cotbed in your bedroom? I have a six-week old and he sleeps in a crib in our room.

Wow, your baby must be huge!! Mine is 99th centile and still fine in his at 10 weeks. Did he like the sleepyhead before outgrowing it? If so try putting a rolled up cellular blanket under the snuzpod sheet in a bigger sleepyhead sort of shape.

If he liked the Sleepyhead (Deluxe, I presume) before outgrowing it, why not get the bigger Sleepyhead Grand, which is suitable for 8-36 months?
