Co sleeping - duvet??

I am considering co-sleeping but I have read that you shouldnt sleep with duvet. So what do you co-sleepers out there recommend for me & DS? Is a duvet OK or should I use loads of blankets? And what about a gro bag?

THanks!

How old is your LO? My DD is 6 months and actually sleeps under our duvet (well from her tummy down) However when she was younger I'd have her in a grobag ontop of the quilt. I don't think it's advised because of the overheating aspect tho.

When our sons were newborns, our mw told us to move our pillows and duvet further down the bed and have the little ones right at the top of the bed, under their own blankets. Results in cold toes though.

DD slept in her Grobag, on top of my duvet. Duvets aren't recommended for babies until over 12 months.

We were worried about the duvet so swapped it for a sheet and two blankets. It's much easier to make sure ds (now 9mo) doesn't overheat.
My experience of co-sleeping is that I cuddle ds much of the time, would be hard to keep the duvet off him.
We do use a grobag aswell as he moves up the bed and often ends up with no covers.

Godd luck! cosleeping is without a doubt the best thing I've done as a parent.
