What should baby wear if cosleeping?

Hi Smile my DD is almost 5 months and we end up cosleeping at some point every night, sometimes from 1am, sometimes as late as 6am. In her cot she's usually in a long sleeved vest and babygro in her sleeping bag (2.5 tog at the moment) which seems about right most nights. If we're cosleeping should she be in less? She's never under any extra blankets or a duvet but ends up pretty much as squished into me as she can get! Just wanted some input of what everyone else's babies were wearing Smile

Ds1 Co slept until he was about 15 months. Started off Co sleeping all night, then from his first wake up in the cot, stopped Co sleeping when he stopped waking! He always wore the same as when he was in his cot. Not under any blankets or quilts.

Thankyou! I've been worrying that she'll get too hot with my body heat too!

Ds was never a cold baby, but sleeps better a bit warmer. You could leave the babygrow off and just do ls vest and grobag?

Ds2 is 11 weeks, he sleeps in a sleepyhead with ss vest, babygrow and a blanket over. Thin or thick depending on temperature. When he comes into bed with me, he has the same, blanket over the top.

Mine wore the same as in their cot. But i would usually kick DH out to the spare room as worried about having both of us in the bed with a baby

DD used to wear a short sleeve vest, baby grow and 2.5 sleeping bag but DS seems much warmer so at the moment he's just wearing a long sleeve vest and a 2.5 sleeping bag.

She does wear a short sleeved vest on warmer nights Smile I'm up north so its pretty chilly usually! There's only me in the bed so no one else warming it up either Smile thank you all for your replies!

DD is also 5 months and sleeps in sleepyhead next to us but from 5am most mornings cosleeps as it buys us 2 more hours sleep! We put her as she was in sleepyhead in her gro bag between us on top of duvet. I might be completely wrong but I feel she's strong enough to stand being warmer than is recommended for a couple of hours if that were to happen. Her head is not covered, lots of air circulating and if it got really warm we'd wake up and realise. I'd be interested to know what the safe sleep temperature guidelines are based on. Does anyone know of any research? Keeping DD at right temperature has been huge source of anxiety for me so would be interested if babies overheating is common threat or whether it's slightly over cautious advice and baby would have to be really hot for long periods before feeling ill effects.

When you co sleep your body hear is classed as an extra layer of cloths ... we have our little one in a baby grow and a 1.5tog Gro bag, and when he comes in bed with me I take his grow bag off and put my top sheet (I take the Dovet off) up to his waist (i tuck it inbetween my legs so it doesn't move up)

My Ds seems to always be hot so he sleeps in a short sleeved vest or just a nappy.
