Cosleeping

Who cosleeps? What age did LO go on their own? How did you get them to go back to being on their own?

My son is 9months always goes in his cot then tends to come with me in the middle of the night after his night feed because he takes ages to get back to sleep. We went on holiday last week and he slept with us all week because the cot wasn't comfy. Now he doesn't seem to want to go back in his cot, I'm hoping it was just change of routine and that he'll be back to normal in a couple of days.

I didn't routinely cosleep, we had a sidecar cot instead. But I'll bump your post because I know there are lots of cosleepers who use mumsnet so your post needn't be unanswered.

We coslept for 3 years I loved it, to be honest, and truly believe it's good for small kids. Once I stopped fighting it (because I thought I 'should') we never looked back.

I solidly co slept till mine they were about one. I did carry on putting putting them down for naps in the cot and would put them down to bed on the evening in their cot.
I then started to not go see to them quite as quick when they woke and would try and settle back to sleep with a dummy. If they wouldn't go back off they'd come in to my bed for a snug.

Eventually though they just grew out of waking up and so spent the night in their cot.

I always co-slept with DS, i can't honestly say how he ended up in his cot (the cot has always been in his bedroom) it just happened as a natural progression. He is 17 months now, goes to bed in his cot (still bf before bed) about 630 and sleeps through till about 730 or so. Comes into my bed maybe twice a month? Usually for about half an hour until i pop him back into his.

I coslept with son and he's only just gone into his own room - age six. We tried every now and then throughout the years, but never really pushed it. Currently cosleeping with one-year old daughter . . .

4 months- when I gave up BF and DS was getting too heavy to sleep on me (too worried about heavy sleeping DH to let DS sleep anywhere in the bed but on me). Started the night in the next 2 me but by 2am normally just kept him on me.

He still occasionally co sleeps if he is anxious

Ds2 (11) has been struggling with various issues for a while now. When he's stressing about stuff and can't sleep he co sleeps with me and dh moves into the spare room. Not ideal but it works for him/us.

My 7 month old daughter has been in our bed since age 4 months..after she moved out of her chicco next to me. She starts the night off sleeping in her cot in her own room but ends up in our bed after her first night feed if she doesn't settle. I always intend to put her back into her cot in the middle of the night but sometimes I fall asleep whilst feeding her and it doesn't happen until 3-4am if at all. She always naps in her cot. I do wonder how future transition's will go as I don't want her sleeping with us past 1 year really!
