Ds has started waking twice again as he's teething, i'm stressed about going back to work next week and i'm expecting.

I lie in bed, wide awake, even though i was exhausted before hand. When i finally fall asleep, i'm tossing and turning, dreaming, worrying...

I'm desperate for a good sleep.

Hi, I suggest a generous helping of calpol for DS at bedtime and try some camomile tea and some Kalms for you (if they are ok in pregnancy). Try and relax and get to bed as early as poss.

The teething thing will be over in a few days. Can your partner get up in the nights to give you a break from it?

Why are you going back to work? Take it easy, what is the worst that could happen? You will be tired for work? so what, just bleat on about it when you get there and I'm sure there will caring people you work with who will sympathise and sit you down for a lovely cup of tea and a chat when you get in and it won't be as bad as you expect.

laughs hysterically at DP doing nights

He had DS last night as i went to a gig and didn't get back until 1am. Moan, moan, moan. 'He won't sleep' 'My back hurts' 'I'm tired'... Yes dear- i've been doing this for 8.5mths. Poor you!

I'll check about Kalms- shall find some later. DS is at childminders for the day, so hoping to get a nap this afternoon. Fingers crossed!

Work Monday. Just telling myself it's only 4 days a week for about 7mths. Based on how much of a bugger DS has been, i'm almost looking forward to it.

do you drink tea or coffee?

I have just cut out coffee - I was only having two or three (strong) cups a day but I cannot believe how much better I am sleeping.

There are all the old tricks - warm lavendar bath before bed, milky drink etc but assume you have tried all of those.

Do you get any chance to relax in the day? I always sleep badly if I have rushed around all day and not had a few minutes for myself.

i don't really- not with a 8.5mth old who's trying to walk!

I drink about 3 cups tea a day.

Tried camomile tea- don't think it really helped me.

I do try to sleep in the day when DS naps, but i can't.

My sister uses the following method which she swears by. Think of a piece of music - it must be instrumental only. Hum it. Before the piece of music has finished you will be asleep.
By the way, hum in your head, she started off humming aloud and pisses off her dh no end LOL
