Anyone else up with a fussy ol' newborn?

DD refuses to sleep.DD must be on the boob all night.

Or if she does sleep it must be on me apparently. Daddy isn't even acceptable this evening.

Anyone else up this evening with similar and fancy joining me to go a tad doolally?

We are only a week and 2 days old!

Nine and a half months in and dd2 is waking every few hours for boob 😓

Im currently re-watching the walking dead with my my 23 day old. DP is in bed snoring his head off wibu to throw a cup of water at the jammy bastard?

Sleep deprivation gets easier with a good series to watch xx

Miss Mine is currently downstairs running me errands of lucozade and apples right now. Although tbf he hasn't gone to bed yet.

I can imagine that cup of water is getting dangerously close though! Grin

Trying to decide what would be good to watch... WHY did I watch so much while I was pregnant!

Now he has gone back to work he seems to think he is more entitled to sleep! Pffffft. Lucozade actually sounds quite wonderful tbh, might need to stock up on that myself.

Nothing could prepare me for this level of sleep depravity, I had visions of myself sat on Maternity leave with my precious little cherub, dishing out the occasional feed, reading a good ol Chat magazine and changing the occasional shitty nappy. I also thought that when I put my DD in her moses basket she would actually sleep. How. Naive. Was. I. ConfusedBrewCake

And the washing loads! Holy crap, these babies where so much clothes, my maidens never seen as much action.

LOs wardrobe looks like New York Fashion Week and mine looks like Tramp Exchange.

I love staring at her amazing little hands and eyelashes. On the whole though, stinging eyeballs of tired doom aside, babies are awesome!

Yep, same here, up with 2.5 week old DD who is waking every hour for the boob or to be held/sleep on me.

Hates the cot & Moses basket.

Hates being laid flat.

My eyeballs are hanging out of my head...they certainly didn't tell me about this in parent class!

Finally we managed an hour and a half of sleep in the cosleeper. RESULT!
Although clearly we are back now.. Wink

miss Oh agreed, babies are lovely! I can't stop stroking her little hands and face! Our washing machine too is having a mental breakdown I think haha!

sun Oh dear, your poor eyeballs! Still, it may help keep you up if you can play singable with then. Grin

Also up, bf 4month old. We went through the sleepless nights the first few weeks - and I mean just 2-3 hr sleep per night! Never experienced anything like it - and then it got easier and I thought we had cracked it. And then... hello 4 month sleep regression!

Imavinoops have you tried white noise? I remember DS loved to listen to the tap running, water clips on YouTube, anything with water running really, in the early days. Really helped him to doze off and still does help us in bad days...

Awake feeding my 2.5 week old. Have you tried feeding lying down? It makes night feeds so much more manageable for me, and if you've got a co-sleeping cot you can just scooch baby across once they've fallen back to your sleep.

Me too! 3 months in and my DD has spent half the night fidgeting and grumbling... so I pick her up and she does a massive fart, then falls fast asleep Hmmrepeat x7! Envy

ella Tried white noise, doesn't seem to make a difference.

fizz Have been laying down with her feeding, was practically in the cosleeper myself so I didn't even have to move her Wink as soon as I move slightly away or she stops breastfeeding she just seems to wake up again within 5 or 10 mins. She just KNOWS. SHE KNOWS! Wink

I have kept her asleep other than a few feeds tonight though with her on and off of me. I hoping she will be a bit more awake during the day now and tomorrow night may be a little better. Her sleep schedule is basically the exact opposite of ours really so I figure if she sleeps now I may be able to change it slightly. Probably wishful thinking with such a tiny baby though. Grin

Same two week old who has to be within head bobbing reach of my boobs at all times - wakes as soon as any attempt to put her anywhere else and wants to.be back on the boob !!!! Exhausting . Co sleeper is a massive fail at the moment !!

My co sleeper is currently just a giant bedside table! Which to be fair is pretty handy for storing all my stuff to get me through the night feeds! They really do seem to just KNOW! My little 1 week old girl will only sleep curled up beside me but as long as she sleeps I'm happy. We had a rough few nights of cluster feeding but she seems to settle a bit after midnight. They are incredible though. I can't stop looking at her we face!

Nearly five week old here. Feeding lying down helps so much, he dozes off then if I'm lucky I can put him back in his crib!

It's nice to know other's have the same problem, it isn't just us. DD woke around 6am, stayed awake for around half an hour for a feed and nappy change and is now dozing with DP!

Not quite the cosleeper but at least she is happy being off of me

Fingers crossed I get a little sleep this morning when DP gets up with the gang.

This is a serious question - did none of your antenatal classes warn you about hourly or two hourly feeds and babies who refuse to sleep in their beds?

I feel sleep deprivation was rammed down my throat!

I of course had a little angel child who slept 12 hours from 3 months.

Then was promptly humbled by the birth of number 2.

Who knows what number 3 will bring.

Tips: boob,dummy, raise the bed, electric swing, Valium, wine, whiskey... I kid I kid

I wish I'd found you lot last night!! I have 9 day old twins who sleep beautifully all day and then wake up and scream from 9pm onwards. Can't catch up in the day because we also have a 3yo. I'm dreading DH's paternity leave finishing!
A kindle is good because you can read in the dark and it's easier to manage with one hand than a book!

DS was a horror last night (2 weeks today, awwwww) but I was too groggy even to MN. Eyes burning today. I too am loving lucozade right now.
