18 month old suddenly not sleeping!

Our little boy is 18 months. He has a nap about 10 in the morning. Usually between 1-2 hours. He goes to bed no problem at 7:30 after his usual routine, he was sleeping through to 6-7 with 1 wake up for a quick cuddle then straight back down. But at the moment he's waking up at all hours just crying until I go in to him. I try and let him cry it out but it's just not working. Any suggestions?

That could be separation anxiety, just wanting your reassurance. It could also be teething molars at this age.

I don't have answers, by my 18mo is exactly the same. He's been napping and sleeping through for a couple of months, but over the past week, he's back to multiple waking sat night, and really trying to resist his nap! Maybe there is an 18month sleep regression?

Yes there is a big developmental leap and sleep regression at 18 months, I think due to a 'language explosion'.

Just give him lots of comfort. It will pass.
