ds is 3 1/2 and co-slept half the night from age one ish and all the time from 2yrs.

i like co-sleeping but have a couple of questions for other co-sleeping/ex co-sleeping parents?

what age did your children go into their own beds?
who instigated it, you or your children?
did you have problems?

thanks in advance!

interested in seeing the replies; co-sleeping with 3 1/2 and 15 mo old; bed getting a bit crowded

dd is 2 1/2, we got her a bed at 18 months. She always goes to bed in it but sometimes (often!!) comes to us during the night. We instigated the change, dd has always seemed happy with the arrangement.

9 month ds sleeps with us.

Hope this is of some help.

maisystar, I'm sure there are more co-sleepers out there with more experience than me. I seem to remember hercules but I may be wrong.

Also, wanted to say that we were surprised at how well she took to her bed, she just accepted it and didn't seem to question it, we'd expected a fight!

Maiststar - My ds is 3(on Sunday) and we have co-slept half of the night since as long as I remember. I too really enjoy it. I LOVE looking at that beautiful face first thing in the morning...... sure beats grumpy DH!

I am due my 2nd in 6wks and we are doing up DS's room in a space rocket theme. He is really excited about it and we hope when it's finished it might encourage him to sleep there a bit longer. He usually comes into bed with me at about 12am. I'm also hoping the new baby being in our room might discourage him too. But if it doesn't we;ll just carry on until we feel ready to tackle the issue.... which at the moment isn't a problem.
DH is even starting to enjoy getting a full nights sleep in DS's bed (apparently I snore!!)!

DDs 4 and 5 - dd1 sleeps with DH, dd2 with me. We bought them beautiful bunkbeds, refurbished their room etc. etc. It lasted for about 3 nights before a fight about who got the top bunk. Now they're both back with us!
