10 week baby's bedtime

Just that really! What time would you put a 10 week baby to bed?

My lo is ten weeks and normally goes down after having a bottle around 7ish depending on what time he has fed during the day. Tonight his bottle is due at 6 but this feels to early in?!

For SIDS advice baby should sleep in the same room you are until 6 months. So baby should go to bed whenever you do.

After the 6/7pm feed, when's the next feed usually? If it's around 10/11pm then I'd take baby up to bed then.

We do 7pm. I try to time his feeds to try and get the last one as 6.30 so he can go down afterwards!

Fate - what do you do with baby in evening bw 6 & 10pm? Is he/she not grumpy?

What would I do? At 10 weeks baby would be napping and feeding in lounge while I watch tv and drink tea.

Not sure what you're asking me, to be honest.

DS is 15 weeks and since about 6 weeks, we do a "winding down" feed about 6-7.30, then he goes into his Moses basket if I'm at my mums (spend a lot of time staying there) or his day crib if at home on the boat, both in dimly lit spaces of the living area, but right by me. Then he sleeps until about 10-midnight, while I watch tv/ have a glass of wine/ read/ nap/ eat - and then wake him for a nappy change, feed and bed (cosleeping).

He sometimes wakes once in the evening for a feed, or if we had a busy day and he didn't feed quite as much as usual, I do a dream feed about 9- but generally he sleeps through.

I agree with Fate, not much routine at 10 weeks and my DD would nap and feed downstairs until i went to bed. She's 5 months now and no chance that would happen now. She's a nightmare by 7pm so she gets put down and we use baby monitor while we watch telly.

Thanks for your replies my lo had a bath at six then fed after this and went down fine. I'm worried now tho about him being upstairs with the video monitor on and not downstairs with me! We started putting him to bed in our room from about seven weeks old his next feed after 7ish isn't until 12ish which is too late for me to stay up but carrying him up at 9.30-10 when I go up was really disturbing him

I used to sit in the living room with ds sleeping on the feeding pillow on me. H could lift pillow and baby together and take upstairs without too much disturbance. If he woke I just fed him back to sleep.

We didn't really get a bedtime til about 5-6 months.

My lo is 10 weeks and has a bath around 6 then breast feed and bed around 7. He is upstairs in his snuzpod attached to my bed but I have a camera monitor and can clearly see him so I'm not worried. If I pop up to the loo I always stick my head in also. I go to bed around 10 but baby doesn't wake until around 12 x

I've had a 10 week old who was going to sleep at 7pm and wouldn't wake or so much as shuffle around until 7am, and has been doing that for about a month by then.

Sorry. I know how grim that sounds to non sleepers. I've had 3 other children not like this.

However I mention it because of at 10 weeks baby is going to sleep and not waking up until you've give to bed, in that position I would put baby to bed at 7pm. It goes against SIDS recommendations so it is individual choice. But I can understand that many families would want to.

That all sounds fine to me. We were between 7 & 8 as older DC so baby would go down first and then a story with DD1. We used a video monitor and slept in the same room overnight until about 4-5 months. No-one was getting any sleep after that.
DD1 stayed downstairs until 10 or so. She was a bloody nightmare and I wonder if that had anything to do with her overnight wakings (i.e. Would she have been better if we'd followed a stricter routine.) she was a Velcro baby anyway so I think it was just the luck of the draw.

DD is 17 weeks and for the past 10 we've been in routine of putting her down for bed 7ish. She's not regular on feeds just yet so the times she has had a bottle around 6 as you've described, I've left her for a little quiet half an hour (in her bouncy chair while I wolf down my tea), then done bath (if needed), pj's on and into her gro bag. We make up a small bottle 3oz and see if she'll have any more and do bedtime as usual. She's waking for bottle at 1 am and then another at 7ish and will snooze for another hour after that. She's a good baby really.

Ours just stayed with us either in the carry cot or being cuddled until 6 Months, she came up to bed when we did. The lullaby trust website is worth looking at, gives good advice about safer sleep and has information about why the safer sleep guidelines exist.

I think my baby must be a night owl, he never settles down for a full night until after 11, even if he's been up ridiculously early. He seems to make up for it by napping a lot during the day. A bit like me I guess :D

My DS (second child) is 12 weeks old. He has a bath at the same time as my 20 month old DD but comes back downstairs with us when DD goes to bed.
He has a feed around 7pm, then snoozes in the sling while DH and I watch tv etc. I take him out of the sling around 10/10:30pm, have mastered the art of changing his nappy without fully waking him, feed him again then he comes up to bed with us and is usually fast on until 4/5am
