I was just wondering how and why my DD of 10 months manages to sleep when on her hands and knees? It looks so odd and not at all restfull. Does any bright spark know the reason for it? She sleeps all night now ....finally!

Oh, both mine did this. Well, on elbows and knees, with butt in the air. I don't know why, but it's pretty common.

Oh, the bum in the air is just sooooo lovely. Wish he did it now

DD2 still sleeps like this and is 13months now.

I remember my nephew doing this too but her wee knees look so red after her afternoon sleep. I just wondered if there was any developmental reason for them adopting this pose??

It's the "this is my bum and I'm proud of it" developmental milestone
But more seriously, no idea. Never even thought about it tbh...

Weinstein she is so proud of her botty... just loves to crawl around while covered in poo mid nappy change. She has no shame!!

Lol... just wait til she gets to the "this is my poo. Oh look! I can get my hands in it!" developmental milestone

All to look forward to. However if she takes after her mum they will smell like little rosebuds!

Well I'm off to bed to sleep in a foetal position maybe some physiologist will have the answer to odd sleeping postures. I'll have a check on DD's odd position ... sometimes I have to hunt for her in the cot!

Oh, I know what you mean there - the other night I had to search for DS... he had buried himself underneath his teddies and blankie at the foot of the cot. If his bum was still in the air, I would find him immediately!

Off to sleep face down star shaped crossways across the bed. Think that means that I like the bed to myself, thankyou very much!
