I new to this site but I'm at the end off my sanity! My little boy has recently had tonsillitis and this has thrown his sleep out the window. He used to be so good down at 7.30 up at 7 but now we have trouble getting him to sleep and when he wakes he screams ( used to self soothe) he just wants us to sleep in with him! I try control crying last night for over 2hrs and he got so worked up it was horrible! I sat on his bed he went to sleep and I crept out. He woke 3hrs later screaming again! My husband slept in his room but he still cried! He not getting enough sleep and neither are we! I don't know what to do!

Is he in a bed?

I wonder if he'd feel more secure in a cot. My children were all 3 or 4 years old before they moved to a bed. The sides of the cot give a surprising amount of security to a toddler.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that and I was going to put it back but he kept saying I love my new bed Confused

I would say he's not emotionally ready for a bed yet. You could make his old cot into his "new, new bed" instead - new pillow case and bedding for example. Maybe paint the room.

Going to put cot back in room to see if that helps will try anything Confused thanks for your advice

Good idea I think. I would expect to need to stay in the room while he goes to sleep, to re-establish him feeling secure going to sleep.

Yeah I think I will have to stay a bit but hopefully he'll feel happier sleeping in it! Smile thank you again x
