What layers should 6 month old have on for bed?

My lb is 6 months old. It's getting chilly now- I live on the south coast of England. When I put him to bed he has a vest and babygro and normally a blanket. But tonight I've put him in 2.5 tog sleep bag.

Question is, if in the sleep bag should I put a vest under the babygro?

Me and partner disagree!

Help!!

Look on Grobag's site; they have guides for this.

It all depends on the temperature of his room.

Mine is in vest, babygrow and 2.5 tog growbag. Bedroom around 18 degrees, probably a bit less by the early hours. He was fine last night (I was up enough that I got to check lots!!)

Mines in short sleeved vest plus sleepsuit plus 2.5 tog sleeping bag. I'm in the Midlands. Have had a couple of nights of l/s vest instead of s/s vest on especially cold nights.

My 7 month old twins (tiny still 14lbs) have a bodysuit, sleepsuit and either 2.5tog grow bag or a cellular blanket if the grow bags are in the wash/drying/lost in a pile of washing. Plus I guess they keep each other warm sharing a cot. They're always super toasty and have never woken in the night.

My 6 month old is in a long sleeve vest, baby grow and 1 tog sleeping bag. The room is 18/19 degrees. She wakes all the time fir milk or cuddles. Maybe my DD is cold?

This is from the label of a Mothercare grobag

We put DD in a long-sleeved body suit only - room is usually 19-20 degrees. This seemed to be what the gro-bag site suggested. I'm really paranoid about her overheating but sounds like I might be underdoing it! She sleeps pretty well though.

My 12 m/o was in a pair of pyjamas and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag in a room that was 18/19 degrees. But she kept waking up where previously she'd slept through.

She's now in a short sleeved vest, plus pjs, plus 2.5 tog and has stopped waking during the night.

I guess she'd been a little cold. Poor love.

Gashley - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Ahh thank you everyone. Really helpful!!!! Good to hear what everyone else is doing too. I'm someone who really feels the coke hence my partner not trusting my judgement!! Grin
