Just wondered if anyone could share their experiences of the sleepytot?
Did it help your lo in finding their own dummy and at what age?
Are they worth the money?
Also would you advise buying a small or large one?

Are these the bunnies that you attach a dummy to the leg?

I've heard good things about them.

I sew a ribbon into the chest of my sleeping bags to stop list dummies. Press stud At at the end to attach a dummy to. Baby quickly learns that a sweeping motion under neck will find dummy, which will find dummy.

How old is your baby?

Because realistically babies don't have the manual dexterity skills to reinsert their own dummy until about 8-12 months old. Until then you'll be needed to help baby put the dummy in.

She's only 8 weeks so am not expecting her to be able to do it for quite a while yet but they are suitable from three months so I though that using it as a comforter for now would get her used to it.

I used the ribbon with a press stud thing from birth - these ribbons are sewn into every sized sleeping bag I own and have used for all the children.

Newborn age it benefits me rather than baby - it means I can quickly and easily find the dummy without opening my eyes or moving from the warmth of my duvet

However it would be a dubious SIDS risk. Likewise the sleepytot though - SIDS guidelines say nothing on the childs cot for first 6 months, including soft toys. So it's just an individual judgement call for individual parents to make based on their risk management.

Another option is the millions of dummies scattered around the cot approach.

I find it good. I love seeing her little hands clutching it while she sucks on her dodi. My older one was better at finding it in the night but I think the baby just wants to disturb the house regardless of dummy or not.

Thet are amazing!My lo had one from about 6 months. She is now 13 months and loves it. I hope when it comes to getting rid of dunmy the bunny will be enough. She found dummy by herself as soon as she got it. We had a small obe byt bigger one is better for cuddling to x

I recommend them wholeheartedly! I got two, so we had one spare and that has proved worthwhile when she's been travel sick. I think DD was about 6months? when we first got it, it helped massively for finding and replacing her dummy. She is 2 now and I hope I'll be able to tell her in the future the dummy fairy is coming but leaving bunny behind will make it more palatable. She always asks for DummyBunny -the two things are linked in her mind. Though last night she did wake and call and ask for me to get it and her teddy, even though she had each either side of her, perfectly within reach lazymadam

Thank you for your replies. I have ordered one for her for Christmas. Trying to stop myself from going overboard on presents when she's not going to even remember it.
