Refusing to sleep in the cot

My 8 month old DS has all of a sudden decided he doesn't like to sleep in his cot and will only sleep on our spare bed (where I feed him) during the night. During the day he naps fine in there, but every time I put him into the cot at night he starts crying until I pick him up and lay him back on the bed. At which point he goes straight to sleep!

Any ideas or suggestions as to why this might be?

Maybe the bed is more comfortable?

I'd just put a bed guard on and let him get on with it. As long as he can't fall out he'll be fine.

I reckon the bed is definitely more comfortable! Crafty little sod haha

My dd (2.5) has decided that my bed is more comfortable than hers. At 3am I don't have the strength to argue.... 45 minutes trying to get her back to sleep in her bed, or 2 minutes in ours!

It's never been an option for us due to dh mountains of crap everywhere but could you put the spare bed mattress on the floor? And make the room safe?

No unfortunately there isn't room for that. I just don't get it as he sleeps fine in there during the day!
