13month DD awake for FOUR FUCKING HOURS in the night

Just that basically. Her sleep has never been particularly consistent but is fairly 'normal' for a baby (I.e - shit), but Christ on a bike, waking from 12-4 and spending the whole 4 hours giggling and clapping is surely taking the piss?!?! Someone tell me this is just another bloody phase and will pass imminently????

It's a phase, it will pass!! In the meantime - keep lights off, or very low, don't give in and go downstairs. Don't chat or sing. They do get it eventually!

Agree, mine does this when she's developing something. Is she walking or crawling yet? Could be something like that

If baby is not upset - giggling and clapping - just switch the monitor down, ignore and go back to sleep!

CobsAhoy · 05/11/2016 06:34

Thanks all, we are bed sharing so although I did ignore her it wasn't impossible to sleep through. That was the first time I've properly thought 'why the hell have I not got this child in a cot???'. Thankfully last night it didn't happen so I feel slightly more human today!

Fluffikins yeah I think she's on the cusp of walking, she's been marching around holding my hand for months and just started letting go but is currently panicking after two steps and dropping to her knees, maybe she had a 12-4am burst of confidence and wanted to give it a go?!?!?

*was impossible to sleep through - obviously still sleep deprived!
