I'M SO EXCITED..

... for the first time since 2nd June, I've just been able to put my (just) 2 year old to bed and walk out without her chucking a shit fit, or me sitting there fuming for 90 minutes having one either. I just said 'I'll be outside the door, try and go to sleep'. And SHE. WENT. TO. SLEEP.

I know, I know... it's just a one off, or just a phase... but since June I've wasted about 2 hours a day sitting in dark rooms waiting for her to fall asleep. Yesterday I decided to screw the daytime nap, screw the fact that she's probably too young to drop it, and just kept her busy all afternoon.

I'm watching Bake Off Final Slice and eating chocolate while wishing I had copious booze in the house...

I'd be excited too! I don't think that's too young to drop the nap either - I think the range for dropping it is quite big. At that age DC1 probably only had 2 or 3 naps a week. Enjoy the Bake Off!

Wow I remember those days! Enjoy, I remember feeling like I'd won the lottery!
My dd2 is 13 months and sleeps like a textbook baby, my first never slept unless I was laying down with her, took 3 bloody long years to break

Ellie - Yep - 'we' have to lie with her. I make her dad lie with her too, but it's really only me she wants there. I make him stay so he can share the pain!!

pirates - I've been reading about nap dropping this evening, and I think we'll play it by ear. Her 3 nursery days will probably remain nap-y.
