Getting Started on Routines

Hi

I have a 13 week old daughter who doesn't really have a routine of any sort. I would like to get her started on Gina Ford's Contented Little Baby routines but don't know where to begin.

Should I start her on a six week routine or some altered routine for a 3 month old and then bring her gradually into line with Gina Ford's routines?

I'd defintely start with the right routine for her age.
I expected it to take a while with my dd ( admitedly she was only 5 weeks) but from day one she fitted in with the basics of it ( just kept falling asleep too soon). It took a long while for her to sleep the full 2 hours at lunch time - we kept the afternoon nap going to make up for it - and then on the avice of mumsnetters I did controlled crying for the 2 hour sleep over a couple of naps and hey presto she's taken the full 2 hours ever since.
she's 16 months now and has just in the last few weeks has dropped her 9.30 am sleep with the WONDERFUL side effect that she is now sleeping 7pm-8am ( wiht 2 hours at lunch)- I just can't believe my luck, sleeping in till 8 am day after day is just BLISSSSSS!!!!
( OK I know a gf day is supposed to start at 7 sharp - but who cares!!!)

I agree - start at her age or maybe a week or so earlier and see how it goes. When you do start and have any quesyion... feel free to post as several of us are experienced GF users !!!

Dont mean to appear stupid but what is this GF everyone keeps mentioning?

leander - GF is Gina Ford author of The Contented Little Baby and From Contented Bay to Confident Child - published by Vermillion Press. Go to Search and Look up the amazing amount of threads there are on her. She is a Maternity Nurse who favours early routines for babies. I am a huge fan, but there are others who are'nt! to say the least!.
