Hats?

Hiya, sorry if this is in the wrong place wasn't sure which category this came under! Dd is 8 months tomorrow and our flat can get really cold at night, I bought her a winter sleep suit last week and it comes with a hat. I've heard you shouldn't put a baby to bed in a hat because the heat won't be able to escape from their head, although in the hospital when she was born dd was in a hat the whole time and the heat there was dreadful! I'm just trying to think of ways to keep her warm at night over the winter as she kicks her blanket off (and won't sleep in a sleeping bag) my question is, does anyone put their little ones to bed with a hat on? Or is it a complete no no?

When I had DD the midwife told me only hats in the house for the first 24 hours of baby being born as they can't keep their heat them. She said to also take off hats in the car. So I wouldn't put one on to go to sleep if I'm honest. My DD was kicking off her blankets too so I had to go to a sleep bag for her. It took her a few nights to get used to it and would lift her legs and bang them doeb trying to get it off but now she's good with it. And she knows that when the sleeping bag comes out it's times for a bottle and bed :-) keep trying with the sleep bag. Other than that I have no clue what you could use sorry.

Our house isn't that cold at night, so I'm only half helpful. DS won't sleep with any covers so he wears a thick fleece sleep suit, with leggzings and a pj top underneath.
What sort of temperature does her room get to?

DS slept in a hat for the first 3 months of his life every night...and don't think he had overheating problems.

No don't use a hat. They are for outside not inside
