How do I settle a light-sleeping baby?

DD1 is 8 weeks old and wakes for either 1 or 2 night feeds (BF). I actually enjoy the feeding, but dread putting her back in her Moses basket as she rarely falls deeply asleep, and is still in a REM state 20 minutes or half an hour after we finish. As a result, she often wakes as I'm putting her back to bed, even though the basket is right next to me, and won't settle back to sleep without me taking her out and feeding her some more. I can often be awake for an hour and a half which is clearly less than ideal with 3 or 4 hourly feeds! She doesn't like being constrained so swaddling hasn't helped. Any ideas?

what are your feelings about co-sleeping with her laying next to you while feeding then you don't need to move.

Thanks Gingerninja. I do take her into bed with me in the morning, but am less keen on doing this at night, as I think I'd find it hard to relax enough to sleep deeply. But that may be what we resort to.

wot about a grow bag you dont have to take her outy of it to feed her and so when you go to put her bak down she will still feel warm instead of going from a warm snuggly mummy to a cold moses b asket if you get wot i mean! x
