Gradual retreat and music/lights - wwyd?

I have been doing gradual retreat with ds. Probably more gradual than most, but it's working. He's going to sleep with no intervention from me after 20-30 minutes in the cot.

However, he has a music and light show thing, which goes for 10 minutes. He settles himself down to watch it, but it switches off and I have to press the button to get it going again. It is also noise activated but not very sensitive. If I don't switch it back on, he will rouse and get up.

Wondering what to do as I get further away/out of the room?

It will start again if I clap, but obviously there will come a stage where I'm not close enough to.

Id be tempted to swap it out, some come with remotes, but perhaps put one on that's just a light show and also have a CD player for the music that you can set with a sleep function after X minutes

That's a good idea. I was wondering if I could take it apart and fiddle with it......
