Hi anotehr question. DD will not sleep/nap anywhere but in her cot. Its very hard when we go out to visit relatives 45 mins away and shes only happy for a short while because she gets tired but wont fall asleep anywhere else but her cot back home.. I dont know if a travel cot would help at all but i hate having visits cut short because she wont go down for the 45 mins she needs to refresh herself. is there much i can do about this?

have you tried replicating her cot at other people's houses?

i take dd's sleeping bag and her nap time soft toy with us when we're at people's houses over nap time. i lay the bag out on one of their beds as if it's her cot and do our closing curtains routine just like at home, zip her up, give her the soft toy and she knows it's nap time. she's 8 months btw.

failing that i time the journey so she will nap in the car there and back. is that an option or does she not sleep in the car either?

Ivysmum, my dd is like that...will only sleep in cot, not even in pram. It is a nightmare isn't it?
