Uncomfortable in next to me

My 2 week old seems to have decided that my mattress or sleeping on me is better than his crib. In wondering if it's because the mattress is so solid in comparison to my wobbly belly and fancy mattress. Does anyone have any tips or ideas that I could use to safely make it more comfy?

Aww OP there's nothing wrong with the crib, it's just not you. Nothing you can do to that bed will make it as good as sleeping on/next to you. Google the fourth trimester, your baby just wants to be close to you.
Co slept with DS1 and Co sleeping with DS2 as I find it the best way to get maximum sleep. If that's not for you then you can try warming the crib with a hot water bottle before putting baby in, putting something that smells like you in there, holding baby till they are totally asleep and transferring, swaddling, white noise, a sleepyhead... I'm sure these work for some people but they never did for me Grin

Thankyou for replying. We tried one of his daddy's tshirts for him to lay on which seemed to work. Will probably just give in and let him sleep on me in the end. I quite like it but worry il squash him or suffocate him.

Sleepyhead worked for us when DS didn't want to sleep in his next to me, think it was too open for him.

Aw coconutoil your first paragraph made me feel are warm and squishy inside. Currently 37 weeks and can't wait for newborn snuggles again (optimistically have a bedside crib this time....!)

Newborn snuggles are the best Smile12 years between my two DS and I definitely appreciated them much more this time, it really goes so quickly.

Hope things are going well for you steve and good luck Doc. Enjoy all the snuggles you can get.

Thanks, I'm loving the snuggles. So far he's happily sleeping on his dad's t-shirt bless him. Thankyou for the ideas all.
