Currently doing pupd with my 5 months old.

What counts as crying? Actual crying or the moany/ coughy thing they do?

I think if they are just having a wee whine then it's fine, but pick up if they are clearly upset or distressed.

I tried it once with DD - needless to say it didn't work. However, DD was perhaps more persistent than most.

Good luck!

Can I ask what did work?

Well she's now 19 months and still isn't the most reliable sleeper.

We resorted to hiring s gentle sleep consultant which worked wonders. Our main issue was feeding during the night (which install occasionally do is she wakes) and getting her sleep without feeding which I've not done since she was 10 months old.

When she was 5 months she would wake every 2 hours, need fed, would take ages to settle afterwards, and wouldn't tolerate anyone else going to her or putting her down to sleep.

I've been there, it's hard. 5 months is still young though and hopefully you'll find that it gets easier!

Best of luck
