2.5 Year Old Screaming in the night ...

DS 2.5 ..... Thankfully always a great sleeper.

Past month, EVERY night without fail, he will scream in the middle of the night.

I do go in, quick pat on the back, snuggle him back down & off he goes back to sleep until morning.

Is this a phase?

I know only getting up once in the night is no hardship but I'd like just a few nights of unbroken sleep (totally lone parent here!)

Any tips/thoughts?

Could it possibly be night terrors?
Does he have anything that comfort him?
Nightlight special blanket or toy perhaps?
Has he started watching a certain cartoon or something that could be upsetting for him?

If not I hope it is just a phase for you and you both get some peaceful nights soon

He has a dog comforter, I think it is night terrors but how long do they go on for?

I suppose it's just a "suck it up" as he does settle again quite quick.

I'm not sure tbh my little ones never had them although wakes every night.

I'd see if anything has changed for him in the last month that could be causing this?

And if you're still worried or his sleeping gets worse speak to your gp.

We had night terrors, they stopped after a few weeks I think. We dealt with them the same as you, a quick pat to reassure we were there and she'd go straight back to sleep. We'd moved house a month or so earlier and I think it was related to that. Hopefully they stop soon for you!
