As above. Last night I only got some sleep, an hour and a half when she would finally settle on DH and he took her down stairs and held her. Even now she is in her Moses basket not sleeping.

She's still more part of you than anything else, plenty of time for sleeping alone later.

She's only a week old, teeny teeny tiny. She just wants comfort from her mum, there isn't really anything you can do apart from prop your eyes open with matchsticks and enjoy the newborn cuddles

Hang in there. Everything is brand new and baby will want reassurance. My two woke themselves up constantly with startle reflex so we ordered them Woombies which are a lightweight swaddling type thing that are breathable. Other tricks are sleeping with the moses basket sheets so they smell like you and warming up her spot in the basket with a hot water bottle. Incidentally DD2 hated her moses basket. WE ended up buying a Chicco Next To Me and I'd lie down next to her facing me so she could hear me breathe. We bought a Ewan the Dream Sheep and the heartbeat sounds helped her settle in the early days however it did make me sleepy too. Good luck! It gets easier!

See if you have any luck with the Woombie? link here DD2 looks a bit like a tiny pink Hannibal Lecter in hers but she loves it. I out it on when she's relaxed. Usually halfway through a feed. The fabric stretched so they can still move but have the secure feeling of being held.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Flowers

I put her in a grow bag last night and we had a much better night's sleep.

Glad to hear it! Congratulations and enjoy your new baby. They grow up super fast! Mine is 8 weeks now and smiling at us. So precious

You could try a sling as well, when you are healed a bit more. Take it easy - c-section recovery isn't something to ignore. Flowers congrats on your new baby!

It took a good 5 weeks before DS could be put down for any length of time. We began by doing it when he was happy and awake, and then slowly reduced arm sleeping. The No Cry Sleep Solution has some good ideas on this.
