So last night me and my DH got to stay in a hotel room while my parents looked after DD. Normally I'd have been a lot more nervous, but because I've been ill I was desperate for sleep. And...It worked!! DD woke several times but went back to sleep - without milk! I'm ebf and been trying to night wean so it's a huge step forwards.
And we got such an amazing night's sleep - eight hours!! if you don't count two pee breaks thanks to my postnatal bladder I'd like to say I feel like a new woman but still very tired, was expecting that though. But what I do feel is positive and hopeful for the future.
So anyone reading this who's struggling from long term lack of sleep - please consider doing this, if it's possible for you. I trust my parents 100% but still worried about it. It really helps though if you just need to recharge your batteries. I dreaded leaving her but because she's 10 months, I figured she'd be Ok. And she was!
