ds is 23 weeks old and at the moment feeds
bf at 5pm ish
7ozs ff at 7.30pm
7ozs ff at 12amish
bf at 3-4am

Not interested in feeding at 7am.

The problem we have is that once he wakes at 3am for a feed he wont settle back to sleep and so we are very tired. I was hoping that by now he may have dropped a night feed. Can I start to encourage it now or is it still too soon? if so how do i convince him its time to cut a feed.

he should well be able to go without!

mmm sorry on the phone too. cold turkey! I'd drop the 12 ff one, does he wake for that or do you wake him?

You need to focus on getting him interested in the 7am one. If he doesn't feed well in this one, he'll be hungry before his next is due and the day will go to pot.
In order to get him to take a full feed at 7, you need to get him out of the habit of feeding in the night. He needs about 35oz per day. part of this can be given as a 'dreamfeed' at 11pm ish and this should get him through the night. If he's not simply waking out of habit, you could up his daily ounces, particularly in his 7am feed.
best wishes Dawnx

Ive tried doing the dream feed at 10.30 but he will then wakes at 1am and 4am, which means that he is feeding every 3 hrs during the night. How do I begin to cut the feed?
if I try and settle him without a feed hes not happy

Add a few oz here and there extra during the day. make sure he's tanked up, then you can relax knowing he's not hungry. He'll get out of the habit eventually.
