PND through lack of sleep??

Dd is 24 weeks and has been sleeping really shit for the last 3 weeks.
I've cried most days since her sleep went to shit! No particular reason for crying just fed up.
Just had argument with DH as he thinks it's PND and that I need to go to docs.
When she was sleeping well i never cried.

Do you think I have PND??

I had PND for nearly 2yrs after the birth of my second son...... It disappeared when his sleep improved....... I think the PND was a direct symptom of sleep deprivation. I was worse in the week up to my period and also worse when he was going through a particularly bad patch (as in waking every hour for over a week, usually when teething).

Never underestimate the effect that sleep deprivation can have.

The two are linked so much it's hard to tell what's causing what.

I had severe pnd at the start - now I'm suffering because I've not had more than an hours sleep in months.

It's really tough are you able to get dh to take over for a solid few hours to catch up ?

PND is not caused by lack of sleep. It's caused by your hormones. However, lack of sleep will make you feel even worse, if you have it. On the other hand, lack of sleep in itself will make you feel bad. But that's not PND.
As you feel unwell you should see the doctor. Your husband is giving you good advice - get it checked out. Hope you feel better soonish.
