Suddenly screaming when put in cot

Ds is six months and a terrible sleeper. My one tiny chink of light was that with some serious effort and consistency he'd go down in his cot at 6:30 awake and fall asleep (he wakes every hour after the initial two hour sleep.)

But now he's started screaming hysterically as soon as he hits the cot. He's gagging, throwing himself at the bars... Really upset, not just yelling.

I don't know what to do. Pupd just seems to aggravate it and we've tried leaving him a few minutes longer each time but he just starts choking :(

No reflux, cot is warmed, etc etc.

Wtf can I do? This was the only time of day he slept. He's up every 20 mins to an hour all night and won't nap in the day.

How is he around the cot at other times of day? If you were putting washing away in his room and popped him in the cot would he get upset? If so, try and spend a few minutes every day in and around the cot so it's not just for bedtime.

If he's fine during the day and not at naps, I'd suggest he's overtired and to see if he'll go down better a bit earlier.

Yeah I've done that... It doesn't work. :/

He's still in our room- no point having him in his when he's awake half the night. He has never napped in the cot at all but he was totally fine sleeping in it until last week.

He's awake screaming now and has been awake all night on and off all week. I can't take any more. I'm assuming it's separation anxiety? I just don't know what to do about it.,,

Even if we take him I to our efforts he's waking g and screaming for hours.

I can't do this any more.
