won't sleep in her crib!

My dd is 6 weeks old , she hated the Moses basket and wouldn't sleep in it at all so we brought one of the Chicco next to me bedside cribs and she won't sleep in that either , If she's in our bed she'll sleep for between 6-8 hours straight but wakes as soon as put her into her own crib? Any advice or tips?

Sleepyhead! Expensive but worth it

Patience! She's still very young, she will change over time and sleep more easily. Read up on safe co sleeping.

Does the sleepyhead just go into there crib? And yeah I have done some reading on co sleeping, don't use the duvet or pillows when she's in the bed uncomfortable for us but safer for her lol. I'm trying to be patient but I said through out my whole pregnancy that I didn't want to co sleep as I was scared of the risks but at the minute it's the only way we can get some sleep!

Ah, a baby who has read the book. Make a safe bed, as you have/intend, and sleep. Sell the crib.

Co sleep. My ds1 refused to sleep anywhere else.

Ok mine hated crib and Moses basket. I ended up swaddling and putting her Moses basket. After a while she got used to it

Sorry but I was not prepared to co sleep. I had to persevere she cried at first but within a couple of days she gave in.

She would cry initially for about ten mins then fall asleep.

I was just worried about co sleeping as I've heard lots of terrible things about it but I've learned there is safe ways of doing it , I suppose all things associated with babies have there risks!

Sleepyhead fits in your cot or in your bed. They are a godsend

If you are really exhausted with sleep deprivation there are risks associated with that too that endanger you all in various ways.

Makes the best of the situation like you would with anything else.

Co sleeping is very dangerous if you've had alcohol or drugs.

Also if you're not in a bed or your baby is premature.

So I would accept it unless you have those risk factors! Dh also moved out to the spare room in the early weeks as was easier. We got dd and ds to be able to go to bed for a couple of hours solo (well in their cot) then I co slept the rest of the night. That gave us some time together.

Yeah of course we wouldn't co sleep if either me or my partner had been drinking and we don't do drugs lol, she was born on her due date also so not premature and if I was exhausted to the point I felt there was a possibility of rolling on her I'd either ask my mum to take her for the night or put her in her crib and try to stick it out thanks for all the advice guys

Look up woombies/zip up swaddles.

DD co slept until 9 weeks when DH returned from overseas posting and I wasn't comfortable with us all in the bed.

She transitioned to a cot very easily (not even a crib or co-sleeping crib), with the help of a woombie swaddle.

She still feeds to sleep but is only 14 weeks. These things take time and can't be rushed. It can be frustrating but relax and try to enjoy the cuddles!
