Toddlers sharing a room

Help! We moved our two ds's (3.5yrs & 21 months) into the same room earlier this week and were smuggly congratulating ourselves on how well it had gone when tonight the younger learnt how to climb out of his cot and has been running riot, slamming doors, waking his elder brother, wanting to play, repeatedly climbing out when put back etc etc etc. I know he is excited about his new found freedom and while I am quite prepared to spend as long as it takes putting him back until he understands, I cannot think of a way of doing this without disturbing his brother. Does anyone out there have a similar experience or any cunning plans we could try. Many thanks - Adelaide.

I've twins, and they were nightmare when they could climb out of the cot and first in beds - it only lasted a few months. When one starts playing up - normally it's just one who doesn't want to go to sleep I split them up and one goes to sleep in our bed. Later in the evening put the cutie pie into her own bed. There's a bit in Christopher Green's Toddler Taming which might be wortha borrow form the library.
