poopy nappy whilst asleep.... to change?!

Having a bit of a dilemma! My 12 week old little girl has had a bit of a poorly belly the past couple of days, docs said it's probably just a bug, but her nappies have been more poopy than usual.

I put her to sleep about an hour ago, after taking a while to get her down, and after checking on her I can smell that she's soiled her nappy. She's sound asleep, and seems quite content, and I don't want to wake her, but at the same time I don't want to leave her laying in her poop!

What would you guys do?!

Yeah you have to change. It's a pain but she will get sore lying in poo.

VagueIdeas · 04/03/2016 20:55

Never leave them lying in poo!

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 04/03/2016 20:55

Definitely change, or risk evil nappy rash. If you're lucky, she'll sleep through it. Smile

confusedandemployed · 04/03/2016 20:57

Yep sorry. I'm pretty lax as a parent but I'd always change poo. Do it quickly, she won't even notice!

Kbear · 04/03/2016 20:58

keep the lights low and change the nappy gently and quickly - you can't leave her in poo. If she wakes up, c'est la vie!

get the nappy ammo out and arranged new nappy open and flatights dim do it as fast as possible she should go right back to sleep. Otherwise dummy or rocking or shh shh pita i know u can take mine when she/he arrives im.not looking forward to l this again.....

Katarzyna79 · 04/03/2016 21:04

i used to use luke warm water and cotton wool at night less likely to wake the baby up co.pared with cold wet wipes.

ByThePrickingOfMyThumbs · 04/03/2016 21:06

Yes, you have to change her.

Keep the lights dim, make sure you have a nappy ready. Dummy ready to pop in if she has one. Warm the wipes in your hand or on the radiator first so they aren't cold on her bottom. If she's really sleepy and you're very gentle she might even go back to sleep straight away.

HopeandSoap · 04/03/2016 21:06

I stuff the wipes in my bra for. Red mins to warm up then they don't notice being changed so much.

fieldfare · 04/03/2016 21:12

Warm the wipes first. Be gentle but quick and hopefully she'll sleep through it.

Ringadingdingdong22 · 04/03/2016 21:15

Yes you must change her. She'll end up with a very sore bum if left. It's likely to get uncomfortable and she'll wake anyway. Keep room as dim as possible and have everything ready to go.

MyBreadIsEggy · 04/03/2016 21:15

Another one here who used to stuff the wipes down my bra to warm them up while I got the rest of the nappy changing stuff out Blush even if I did wake DD she wouldn't be fully alert IYSWIM and would go back to sleep pretty quickly

Sometimesithinkimbonkers · 04/03/2016 21:18

Always change a poo!!!!

prettywhiteguitar · 04/03/2016 21:22

Ooh I like the stuffing wipes in bra action to warm them up !

slebmum1 · 04/03/2016 22:16

Of course you have to change! My mum used to insist on warming wipes on the radiator when helping with DTs. Never went for it myself!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 04/03/2016 22:17

Yes, you have to change her.
