DS 14 months, basically had problem since birth putting him to bed. Its getting worse and need some help.
he goes to bed after bath & cup of warm milk, we put him in his cot (own room about 7.45) on his side hugging teddy (really cute) and wait for him to nod off (could be 15 mins). about 1 hour later he cries for england, still fast asleep. dont know if he is dreaming.
last few weeks he has been taking longer to settle, and has been crying few more times. this is even before i have gone to bed. tried cc last night to see if can go off on his own, he was so upset, then done a poo ( im sure on purpose)and eventually went to sleep 2.5 hours later.
sorry for long thread, just need any advice. feel like we are running up and down and getting worse, want to try and sort b4 major problem.
he says in cot until 6/7 ish, i go and cover him up about 4am.

So you have two seperate problems - crying in his sleep and getting worse at going to bed? I don't see what you can do about the crying, DD does it, she is 2 1/2 and is definitely dreaming she shouts out too ("that's mine, not yours" and things like that!). Sometimes I can just ignore her, other times I have to go to her and wake her to stop her. She always goes straight back after a quick (10 secs) cuddle.

Have you never left the room for him to go to sleep on his own?

yes i thought the ctying could be dreaming.

no he has never gone down on his own, dd 5 and fantastic sleeper even as baby.
