Movement not being picked up

Since moving my little one out of the Sleepyhead directly into the cot the movement monitor keeps going off. She's looked fine every time we've rushed in and this morning it actually went off when she was awake and kicking around!

Previous times she was slightly off centre but not miles away from sensor and this morning, as I said, she was kicking around directly on top of sensor.

Sensitivity is set to 4 which we turned up from 2.5 the other day.

Any idea what is happening?

Is it an angelcare? Have you got the wood underneath the cot slats?
Mine used to randomly go off around 4/5am but ds slept right next to me and usually did a big breath right after the beep so I did wonder if his breathing was perhaps shallow

Gave up on mine post moses basket as she can wander and at 6 months has more grown up (shallower) breathing without being heavy enough for the shallow breathing to be enough for the sensor (still under 14lb) unless perfectly positioned.

She's still in with me because she self settles unless she has a need and it's easier to just hold her hand through the bars to buy more time...

I had it on a plastic board but went out at weekend and got a bigger wooden board and touch wood (literally!) it's not happened since

Am really annoyed though - if you need the hardboard to make it work then they should provide it. It was such a faff to get it cut at B&Q and the man looked at me like I was insane....

I spoke to early - it went off again at 3am last night. Went in and she looked fine.

I don't really understand why this has suddenly started happening. I have checked sensitivity and monitor seems to be picking up even the lightest touch.

Mine did that once she was rolling as she'd roll off where the mat was and even at most sensitive wouldn't pick her up so we ditched it. The lullaby trust says the sensor mats are pretty much useless anyway, the alarm sounds too late to actually do anything to prevent SIDS so it's only really there for the parent to feel like they're safer.

Thanks fluffikins. I just got worried as angelcare sent me an email basically saying that the monitor would pick up movement anywhere in the cot so she must be pausing her breathing....got me worried about sleep apnea
