As a baby we did a phase of gradual retreat / cry it out. For about a year we've had a pretty good settler. Suddenly at almost exactly 18 months Dd just will not go to sleep. She cries uncontrollably for about half an hour and thrashes about. Tonight I've been in to her three times to pick up, cuddle, give reassuring words, then put down with teddy and leave the room. It's not working!!!!! And dh will be late back from work.
Don't get me wrong, I knew we had it good and this is not a stealth boast. Obviously we had a big bump in the road coming.
Suggestions of how to not let this build into a 'thing'??
