need help - what nightclothes/blankets to use in a 2.5 tog grobag for 3 mth old

have just acquired a 2.5 tog grobag as ds2 keeps kicking off his covers or wriggling up the cot so he is uncovered and then waking in the night. (He was sleeping through the night before the colder nights started)

what should I put on him before putting the grobag on and does he need a sheet or something over the grobag.

I sleep in the same room as him at present and I wear pj's and have a 13.5 tog duvet if that helps describe the overnight temperature in there.

Hello..I discovered the joys of Grobags with my DD from 3 months too, brilliant things really reduced the whole waking up cold thing..and good for those night feeds too..

At moment my DD (15mth) is in a 2.5tog bag and she wears longsleeve vest , long sleeve PJ top & Bottoms, it gets quite cold in our house and she always seems fine ...
You could add a blanket over the top but you'd have to make sure they were tucked in okay and in the foot to end of cot position and I think the joy of Grobags is not having to worry about that.
DD is often at the opposite end of her cot by morning time...

grobag website tells you everything.

my dd wears a long sleeved vest under her sleepsuit.

i should add as well, don't worry if their hands seem cold, check their body temperature just under the neck of their sleep suit to see if they're warm enough.

I've put him in a shortsleeve vest, cotton sleepsuit and then the grobag but with no blanket or anything on top at the moment.

I just don't want to risk overheating him but it's the first night of using the grobag so it's a bit trial and error I suppose.

ds1 screamed when I tried to use one with him so we never had this problem but he wasn't such so skilled at kicking off the covers.

Thanks for the link dizzy and the advice two fishes.

Rats ! have no long sleeve vests and can't find the nursery thermometer thingy.

Still, it doesn't mention putting any blankets on top of the grobag so I'm pretty close as far as his body section goes.
