14 weeks and outgrowing crib?!

My baby boy is 14 weeks old and getting too big for his crib! He has woken up the past few nights with his head against the top bars even though I start him as far down as he can fit. They say to keep them with you till 6 months but there is no way he can stay in there that long and I don't think the cot will fit in our room?
Anyone else had this problem?

Its quite usual to use a crib only for a couple of months, if that.

See if you can move furniture around in your room to fit the cot in. If this doesn't work you could remove your chest of drawers into the nursery and put the cot in the space created in your room.

If you have a long baby, you may only get a couple of months out of a crib. If your full size cot won't fit in your bedroom, would a travel cot? You can get mattresses for them that make them suitable for daily (well, nightly) use.
