I am expecting too much....

My DD is 16 wks. Up to her being 12 wks she reguarly went from 8pm (last feed generally about 7-7.30pm) till 4/5am sometimes 6 and she is exclusively b/f.
Since then she wakes at 1.30am, then every 2 hrs after, and I can't put my finger on why?? At first I thought maybe a growth spurt but its been going a while now! Have tried teething gel and calpol but seems to make no difference. Have tried to settle with dummy rather than a feed but as she puts her whole fist in her mouth nearly its a sign she's hungry!
Is this normal for her age?? I think I might be expecting to much fromn her as I was spoilt in the first 12 weeks. Incidentally I have tried the 'dream feed' about 10.30 - it makes no difference she still wakes at the same times!
She generally feed well during the day and does nap. As a first timer I just need some advice/reassurance if what I'm doing is right?

Sounds like what you're doing is perfectly fine to me.

You have most definitly been spoiled for the first 12wks, and waking for a feed is very normal. Babies change from one week to the next, just to keep us on our toes!

It's good that you're trying other options, but at 16wks I'd guess it's going to be hunger that wakes your lo. IIRC my dd did roughly the same - it even continued into the early stages of weaning, but settled down once feeding was established.

Sounds like you're doing a good job - trust yourself

oh, and the dream feed never worked for us either.

My DD did this as well. I was so relieved and excited when she started sleeping through at 4 weeks, as her brothers didn't until they were 18 months. You can imagine how gutted I was when she started waking again at 4 months! I dream fed as well, but dropped it when it didn't seem to make any difference.
