How can I get DD to sleep in her cot?

DD is 3 months old and has outgrown her moses basket. We've had the moses basket in the cot to get her used to the space, and she's played in the cot during the day (won't nap though).

We've tried her at night in the cot and she just hates it. I think it's because it's so big and spacious compared to the moses basket. What can I do to settle her? It just looks so bare as there's not even any blankets to make it cosy due to her being in gro bag.

I found that sometimes the base sheet was too cold so I put a fluffy blanket down or my dressing gown as it smelled of me (I obvs took the belt off and tucked the arms under the mattress) x

What I do is DS is wrap him in a big fleece blanket (he only falls asleep in our arms) so when I put him down he feels like I'm still holding him.

We bought a Sleepyhead! An expensive solution but it's really helped. Bit worried what happens when she grows out of it though...

Amy - I was wondering about the temperature thing. Did you put the dressing gown in just before you put your LO to bed or was it in permanently?

When we transitioned from Co sleeping to crib we waited until dd was sleepy then heated the crib up with a hot water bottle.

We Also find she prefers blankets over gro bag. First night with blankets she slept 6 hours!!

I believe you can fashion something like a sleepyhead by putting rolled up towels under the sheet. I'm not sure I'd do this for overnight though (no idea whether it's genuinely safe or not) but you could maybe do it for naps or the first part of the night when you can check on her?

I've not had the need to do it as luckily DS seemed to relish the extra space, but have seen it recommended several times.
