Hi Mum's I need your help!
My DD is nearly 11 months .. I'm still having to rock her to sleep and my back won't last much longer! I really don't want to cry it out tho as even if I leave her for a few mins if I'm in the shower when she wakes, she gets herself in such a state she would never just go back to sleep. The biggest problem is if I lay her down if she's not 100% asleep she stands straight back up! Or a favourite is she just crawls away in cot fast. The only time she doesn't need rocking is when her Daddy gives her a bottle at bedtime.this is a new problem as until 9 months old I was breastfeeding her to sleep...I shouldn't have done but it was easier! Any advice would be awesome!

I was exactly where you are now. First, don't worry, it won't last forever, you can change this. Smile

I started by sitting him on my knee and rocking in a seated position, does that make sense? I kinda swung by body round and swung my legs but sitting, it's hard to explain! Then eventually once he accepted that I wasn't wandering around with him, I slowed the rocking until he would just lie in my arms and fall asleep. It took a while but we got there.

Then the big jump, going to sleep in his cot....it was gradual retreat. 3 weeks from first night to sleeping through. There was tummy rubbing, singing, continually lying down etc etc then inching from his cot but it does work.

It's about tiny tiny changes then consistency. It's so hard OP, I remember it seeming like a mountain but break it down into chunks.
