3 month old can't sleep

Any parents of 3 months old out there?

How do you get your baby to fall asleep without crying? Only place mine will do it is in the sling. Crib and pram he just screams until I pick him back up. I'm not a fan of cry it out, but poor baby gets so over-tired and worked up i'm starting to wonder if it would be better in the long run.

I also have a 2 year old, so need to look after him too. I can't invest 90 mins in rocking baby to sleep.

Keep him in the sling?

Do what you can to make it easy for yourself. If a sling works, go with it.

Does he like a moving pram? Walk him round the block with your dc, or to a library/coffee shop so the two of you can have some fun while he sleeps...

Use the sling if that's what works. Do you have a comfy one?

Pram doesn't work either, just the sling.

Which is fine for a while, but now he's getting bigger is starting to kill my back. Especially with all the bending down to the toddler too.
And trying to carry change bag, whilst holding toddlers hand and wearing a sling just isn't practical for anything more than a few minutes when out.

I have a DS the same age (and a 3 yr old) and have had a vast improvement in daytime sleep since a session with a cranial osteopath. Could be worth a shot. And a bouncy chair with vibrations has been brilliant.

What type of sling do you have? I'm using one almost all the time for my 4 month old.

I carry her on my front and have a lightweight rucksack as a change bag. We've had whole days out like that.

Mine hates the bouncy chair vibrating, she looks a bit scared of it! My oldest used to fall asleep with it on.

Have you tried lowering him into the crib or pram after he's sound asleep in the sling? This sometimes works for me so I can eat lunch without cuddles. :)

I also feed her to sleep lying on top of a sheet/blanket and sneak that into the crib.

Have you tried shush pat? I did this with mine from about 9 weeks old and now at 3 months he goes off by himself with very little fuss most of the time

What type of sling are you using? A 3 month old shouldn't be too heavy in a decent one, I used ours up to 3 years! Look up ' soft structured slings'

My 14 week old will only sleep in the sling. I also have a 23 month old. I just use the sling! Like you I haven't got time to do anything like shush pat (toddler running around), I won't leave her to cry and she needs to sleep so really it's the only option. I have a close caboo and although she's a big baby (91st centile) it doesn't cause me any problems with my back.
