waking every 2 hours - but me, not ds!

This is a pretty daft problem but has anyone got any tips for stopping ME waking every couple of hours convinced that I or dh are squashing ds (17 weeks) or that he is suffocating in the duvet somewhere? DS is sleeping really well now. We have never co-slept, though ds is in a cot next to our bed. Sometimes I fully wake up, other times I have no memory of it but dh tells me I suddenly throw all the covers off and am searching the bed frantically , which obviously wakes him up. During the day I am not generally a neurotic person! Anyone else had this?

Hi. You sound like you're waking up thinking of all the things that could happen to him. You could buy a baby sleeping bag and then you'd know he couldn't wriggle down, get too hot etc and you'll probably find you don't wake as you've got nothing to worry about. Tchibo.co.uk have got a good sleeping bag for £10 at the moment.
I still wake up throughout the night and often go into my DS room to just check him but there's no reason - I think all mothers are made like that. Once you give birth I think we're prorgammed to hear every tiny noise and movement. Hot chocolate or Horlicks before bed usually sends me off into a deeper sleep. Good luck!
