Unusual 12 month old - regression?

Hi, this is my first mumsnet thread so hi all. I have a delight but very active 12 month old who started taking steps at 7.5 months and walked confidently at 9 months who has suddenly stopped sleeping (well wakes up 2 hourly) literally within a week of his first birthday. He already has about 10-15 words and has suddenly started adding more so I'm wondering if this has maybe caused the regression? He wakes up and just starts repeating words he knows (Duck, Up, Down, Daddy... and so on) or singing / babbling away. Prior to this he slept 7-7 and settled himself well with the help of his favourite teddy.

Everything I'm reading online for 12 month regressions seems to be about learning to walk but we went through that one 4 months ago so it's almost certainly not that. He eats well (and a lot) and doesn't seem to want to be fed. Just wondering if anyone had any advice or had experienced this?

You're right that it's probably not related to walking but if he's talking I'm sure that's making his brain go crazy as well! My son (now 15 months) will go through random phases of not wanting to fall asleep or waking a lot. Has anything else happened in his life tha could be affecting him??

In any case, I think just hold tight and power through! If he seems happy otherwise I'm sure he will sleep again...
