Cotbed sleeping

Hi All, I'm thinking of moving my 13wk old into her cotbed and wondered if just a bottom sheet, mattress protector and her sleeping in a grobag is safe and cosy enough? I don't want yo use bumpers as they don't sound safe but she's quite a riggler so worried she'll hit her head or get her arms stuck in the bars. I'm a first time mum so probably over thinking but any advice appreciated. I intend to sleep in the room with her until she's 24weeks but want her to get use to it early on. She doesn't sleep through yet so easier to feed her if I'm with her in the same room anyway.

Thanks! ??

I would do what you think is right and follow the safety guidelines and it will be fine. Dc can sleep in a cot at 13 wks if you wish just make sure you put her with her feet to the bottom of the cot in a safe sleeping position. Buy a warm winter sleeping bag and keep a eye on the temperature

I personally use blankets and a sleep sack to try and prevent my dd wiggling around and to try and keep her still and when she learns to roll I will get rid of them and use cot bumpers. This is against advice but it's a personal choice.

Ps as it gets colder put a vest and/ or baby grow on her for more warmth. We have a electric heater in dd so we can control the temperature better to make sure she's not too warm. Might be an idea if you're worried about it.

Thanks @cleoteacher - your right it is personal choice and I almost bought the bumpers as I don't see how they are different from the Moses she's in now as that is effectively a bumper all the way round but the many posts advising otherwise put me off. I have used blankets in the Moses up to now so no reason I couldn't continue with this as long as like you say she's at the foot of the cot. Thanks for your advice ??

Hi.

My friend has offered to lend me the NCT Bednest. I have asked NCT whether the cot is safe to use and they won't answer my question!!!

I thought this was an easy question - has anyone else tried asking NCT about this cot?

I have searched for the cot on their website and I cannot find anything about it anymore.

Can someone else ask NCT this question because they are not responding to my emails!
