Has anyone else experienced this? Ds was a great sleeper, then we went on holiday three weeks ago and all slept in the same room for a week - him in a cot and us in a bed. Now all he wants is for me to stay in the room with him when he goes to sleep. I tried this for the first couple of nights when we got back but after almost an hour of sitting on the floor, I decided it was ridiculous and we'd just go back to our lovely bedtime routine from before went on holiday and hope he got used to it again. Thought I'd cracked it last night - lovely bath, story, milk, cuddles and into bed no problem. Just as I closed the door, he cried out for me, but 10 minutes later he was asleep.
Then naptime today and he's only slept for 40 minutes instead of two hours before crying for me. He's just so tired. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I guess we just carry on and he'll realise it's all ok again eventually, but in the meantime, it's just rubbish for him.

I expect he will go back to normal if you persist with the usual routine. We are going on holiday in 4 weeks with our 18mo and will have to share a room for 4 nights..... You have made me worry it will all go tits up!

He was much better again tonight. Managed to get out of the room without any fuss but again once I got out of the door, I got 'mummy here' again. Four minutes later he was asleep! Tbh, think he just woke himself up doing a poo at naptime - think he's teething again so the nappies aren't pleasant... Give him another week and hopefully he'll be fine...?!?!
