Increase room temp or more bedding?

My gro egg says the room is 'ideal' at the moment, which is great.
But what when the temp drops soon and it becomes 'cold'! Do I put the heating on low to get it to 'ideal' again OR put baby (5wk) in a bigger tog gro bag?
Thanks.

I would think either is fine to an extent not using 12 coats at -5 Wink I used this as a guide.

What temp is the room? When our gro egg said it was just right we found the room far too cold. We have always kept room around 21 degrees

21 degrees works here too! The recommended temperature was just too cold for DS.

It's 18 at the moment here. He seems warm enough, I'm bloomin freezing though!

Our house never gets above 18. Through choice. Kids where always happy. Our heating has a min as well which is set at 14.

We've not turned the heating on yet. I'd keep it low in our bedroom when we eventually do.

I'm just not sure when to go up a tog for his sleeping bag?

Overheating is dangerous. Much more dangerous than a bit of cold. So go cautiously if you are adding heat . we go for about 16 at night in winter. 14 is too cold

I find heating the room works better than more togs but only if you know the heating will switch off if it gets too warm. I now have a small oil-filled radiator with a thermostat for DS's room in winter.

Thanks. That's why im being cautious with the room temp. He's only in a 1 tog sleeping bag, guess I'm nervous about putting him in the 2.5 one.

Our bedroom temp is around 17.5 degrees at the moment, being an old Edwardian house we have just bought an oil filled heater with thermostat to just hear the room baby is in. I think I will set it for 18.5 degrees. He's currently in a 2.5 tog sleeping bag.
