Sleep

When do they find their thumb?

DD2 is 4m and after a good start has gently slid into the same rubbish sleep as DD1. She is using me as a dummy every hour or two, and has been for 3w or so - we are cosleeping to maximise sleep. The problem with this is she then is either sick over both of us or the nappy leaks - I don't appreciate a soggy early morning outfit change!

She sucks her fist but rarely unclenches it to get her thumb out. Wwyd - ride out the soggy nights or try and force a dummy on her? Ime with dd1 the dummy means you spend all night looking for the damn thing but at least we would be dry.

Mine never did. We tried a dummy and she refused it. We FF so no chance of me as a dummy.

She instead does a very cute thing where we she nuzzles a sleeve...means she always has to nap and sleep in a long sleeve top but that's a small price to pay IMO.

Both of mine did around 3/4 months old. But it didn't hel really with either. I trained dd at 11months to stop night feeds.
DS is just turned 1 and am training him now. Sorry, can't help.
Have still do regularly coslept with DS just so we can all get some sleep. He is slowly sleeping longer and last night didn't feed. Just wanted a cuddle!

Could your DD be going through the 4 month sleep regression? Doesn't help the soggy nappy but might explain the worse sleep and the extra feeding to sleep.
DS1 found his thumb at 20 weeks and my 15 week old is just beginning to find his.
Re the nappy can you try the size up for night time?
